Joanne has held a strong passion for creativity through fine art and textiles from a very early age. This passion continues today with her use of soft pastels, oils, watercolour, weaving, sewing, and textile art. Joanne was born in London, UK, but she spent the first 20 years of her life in Montreal, Canada, where she studied fine art, fashion and textile design. She then returned to the UK to engage a successful career in fashion and textile design for over 15 years. For the past 25 years, Joanne has lived in glorious Queensland, Australia with her husband, two sons and many dogs. Here, she continues to paint, design and create, and also project manages a not-for-profit organisation which advocates women empowerment. She now also lives part of the year in Aquitaine, France, where much of her time is devoted to painting.
Joanne is a member of the Pastel Society of Australia Inc, Pastel Artists Canada, Association Pastel en Périgord, France, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast, USA.
She is also on the International Advisory Team of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS), representing Australia.
